It's true, our HOTDISH90
does cost more to ship than other dishes. Want to know why? Read this to
get a better understanding.
Our 90cm dish is much larger than most 90cm dishes. We also use heavy
walled custom fit boxes with styro-foam inserts to protect the dish from
damage during shipping.
Take a look at most of the 90cm dishes on the market. They aren't a full
90cm and most can ship oversize 1 or oversize 2. Fortecs 90cm can ship by
oversize 1 (depending on boxing) while our 90cm ships by oversize 3 making
a difference in the shipping costs. You can see the measure of the
HOTDISH90 at
http://www.aimsat.com/90specs.html. You will see our short axis
measures 90cm and the long axis is 99cm giving you a dish that is almost 1
meter measure on the long axis. This is one of the largest dishes you can
legally put in sub-divisions. See
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html#QA for more information.
Ever wonder why Winegards 76cm dish plays so good? It's because they give
you more dish than they advertise. See the comparison chart below.
If you only care about the shipping costs I suggest you continue to buy
the smaller dishes because the shipping cost will be less. However, if
you want a full size dish of high quality you should consider our
HOTDISH90. While you may pay more in shipping costs, you will receive a
dish that is truly sized as advertised. Your benefit will be better
performance and reduced fall out due to rain fade. Remember, shipping
costs happen only once, but you have to live with the performance of the
dish you buy until you replace it. Don't
get stuck with a dish that doesn't measure up.

* This is a difference of 5cm width
AND 5cm in length. 5cm is about 2 inches. Loosing 2 inches from your
dish definitely will change your performance.
